I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in our grandmother Lois and our mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you.
Dear Mothers,
Today we take time to celebrate you. But the truth is, everyday we thank God for you. You are a constant, a rock in a sea of shifting sand, a safe haven in a world of storms. Most days you feel overwhelmed, unnoticed and mostly unappreciated. The reality is that you are seen, you are known, and you are called according to His Purpose. The world constantly attacks you and your purpose. As if the calling of mother is not enough but I promise you, you have no higher calling. You and I have been appointed as ambassadors of the King of Kings. We are raising His children, the next generation of warriors in the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. Our faith in His faithfulness to us girds us, roots us, as we face the onslaught of the enemies attempts to steal our children. We stand in the gap, tend to the soil of their hearts, pull the weeds and plant the seeds of TRUTH. And not of our truth or the worlds truth, but of THE TRUTH found in the Word of God. Ours is a job with a 24/7 timeframe and a ‘til the moment I die’ timeline. Keeping our hearts firmly anchored behind the veil is of the utmost importance. Only there can we find ourselves in the calm, full of the Holy Spirit, filled with the love of Jesus and able to walk out this calling.
Mom’s, stay the course!! Remember as you wash that next (never-ending) load of laundry, clean that same dish again, fix the next meal, wipe that sweet nose, discipline that child you prayed for, that you don’t only do this for them. You serve the Lord, the One who paid it all for you. That sweet cherub will never be ale to fully comprehend what it costs to be their mom, but The Lord, He knows!! He alone knows what it cost you and He alone can guide, comfort and reward your obedience and love to Him. One day, let it be said of our children and our grandchildren and those sweet faces we will not see this side of heaven, that our faith, your faith, to the One, True God was KNOWN. May the legacy we leave them be one that echoes through eternity and that is of a life lived in faith to Jesus. Sold out to Him. Holding the shield of faith to protect our charges against the enemies’ fiery darts, all while teaching and discipling them to hold their own. Against such a life the enemy cannot stand!
Lord, I lift up all these moms. Root them firmly in Your love, that love that surpasses knowledge and floods them with a peace and strength not their own. Holy Spirit, help them to stay the course in a world bent on throwing them off. Keep their eyes fixed on Jesus, the Vine, Who feeds and nourishes them so they can take care of His lambs. Thank You Jesus for the gift of moms and the gift of Motherhood. May You receive all glory and honor through our lives. In Jesus name!
